If these concerns sound familiar, I might be a good fit for you.

I prefer to begin the therapeutic relationship with time and space to explore who you are as an individual, including your beleifs, values and goals. I think it is important to create a collaborative plan for treatment. Treatment plans are not one-size-fits-all, and can change depending on life circumstances. My approach to treating issues such as anxiety, shame, relational issues and self-advocacy are through an integrative, holistic approach – meaning I may use interventions from various therapeutic methods to address client concerns. Some treatment plans may include Emotion Focused Therapy interventions, Somatic interventions, Dialectical Behavior Therapy interventions, and Mindfulness.
I assist clients who desire to experience their relationship with self and others in a more holistic way. I strive to create a shame free environment where I can empathetically listen to clients and understand who they are in context to their own life experiences. I incorporate movement, and yoga based principles into my work with clients when the therapeutic process calls for it. It is my intention to support clients in their therapeutic journey by assisting them in becoming aware of their own emotions, feelings, bodily sensations, thought patterns, behavior patterns, and communication patterns in their relationship with self and others. Through this awareness, I assist clients in breaking down how current patterns are impacting them and begin to make changes that can result in positive outcomes. My overall goal is to help clients create a deeper sense of self in order for clients to feel confident in knowing how to support themselves in their life.

My Experience & Training
I became interested in psychology and counseling in 2014. While working on Bachelor’s degree I participated in a school counseling internship for a small school in the town of my alma matter. This sparked great interest in providing emotional supports to others. I completed my Master’s of Education in Counseling at Stephens College in 2018 where I spent my practicums working in various schools around Columbia, MO while also providing emotional support to the undergraduate students at Stephens College. Once I obtained my Master’s in Counseling, I held school counselor positions in small communities in MO. During this time I observed many difficult dynamics that are simply unable to be addressed by my role as a school counselor. This sparked my interest in private practice work with couples, marriage, and family counseling; where I can devote more time to individualized work with my clients.
While obtaining my masters degree, I also completed education and training to become a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) as well as Certified in Trauma Informed Yoga for Adolescents and Adults (TIYT). I have also taught yoga at various studios in Columbia, MO.
