Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC)

I believe every individual is an expert on themselves. We are all doing the best we can to get our needs met using the tools we are given. Sometimes we hit a bump in the road and need help to get back on track.

As your counselor, I am that help. You already have the resources within you to get back on the road, but you’re having trouble unlocking them.

In therapy, you and I work together to turn the key. I have the role of guide and mentor, validating your unique contexts and experiences, encouraging your innate resilience, and empowering you to apply the skills you learn for any future bumps in the road.

I am a December 2023 graduate of Stephens College M.Ed. program with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a lifelong Columbia, MO resident and a proud graduate of Rock Bridge High School. I attended Mizzou and graduated a BA in Psychology.

I began working in the counseling field during high school. Prior to my internship at MFCC, I worked at Stephens College Counseling Center, Boone County Family Resources, Boone County Children’s Division, Columbia Public Schools, University of Missouri Health Care and Woodhaven Learning Center.

Additionally, I have volunteered as a trained peer counselor since 2014 through the mental health website 7 Cups of Tea.

My theoretical orientation is, in a nutshell, the way I as a counselor see the world and conceptualize your concerns. While my background is person centered and using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I typically also incorporate elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) to best meet your needs of the client.

I work with individuals ages 3 and older in individual, family, parenting or couples sessions.

I have particular experience working with caregiver(s), children and teens facing significant life changes and coping with medical and developmental diagnoses.

Essential to any child’s success is the wellbeing of their caregiver(s). I am passionate about empowering caregiver(s) to process how the changes in their child will affect their own life journey and self-concept.

Through the Sydney Centre for Creative Change, I hold certificates in:

  • Sacred Storytelling: Teaching Children Reflective Thinking
