Student Counselor
I firmly believe that individuals and families can overcome challenges that come up in life, and ultimately come through the other side of those experiences stronger, healthier, and more resilient. I am passionate about helping clients I work with recognize their full potential and begin taking steps towards achieving their potential. I currently have a special interest in working with adolescents, adults, and couples.
My goal as a counselor is to meet clients where they are without shame or judgement. I believe that individuals are the experts of their own life and that it is my goal as a counselor to help them develop skills and abilities to achieve a higher quality of life.
My approach to counseling is a person-centered approach. A key tenet of this approach is being fully present during the counseling session without a hidden agenda or goal. My approach invites clients to take the lead in the counseling process. I strive to offer an accepting and empathetic environment in which my clients feel safe to explore any aspect of their life that comes up.
I am in my third and final year of a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Stephens College. I have experience as a counseling intern in which I have worked with clients from 9 years old up to adults. This work was greatly influential on me and has deepened my desire to become a fully licensed mental health professional. I also have previously worked in a coaching capacity with adult and adolescent individuals who are striving to overcome addiction. In my working with these individuals, we were able to synergistically incorporate psychological principles with spiritual principles in their healing journey.
