Student Social Worker

I am currently working on my master’s in social work with a clinical focus to become a therapist. I received my bachelor’s in psychology through Mizzou and am earning my master’s degree there as well. My current interests are working with children, couples, and families to help improve their relationships and overall wellbeing. My experience includes working with children and adults at Centerpointe hospital receiving acute inpatient care. Also, I received experience through an internship with New Fronters involving adults with acute mental illness and teaching life and social skills through group therapy.

My goal is to give my clients a warm and safe space to explain their situation and receive educated guidance on next steps to gain control over their own decisions and life. I will provide a non-judgmental space, so my clients feel open to communicating about vulnerable topics. Lastly, this internship opportunity allows me to gain more expertise and knowledge that will be intern be used to give back to others in the community.

A little more about me: I love spending time around the water and doing water sport activities. With being in Missouri, I find myself itching to travel the world and see the differing experiences and beauty it has to offer. Lastly, I find myself holding very high value in the relationship I’m involved in with friends and family.
