Student Counselor
Together, we can explore life’s meaning, set and achieve goals, and process life’s complexities- from the most joy filled, to the more complicated. You don’t need to take this journey alone. I believe that you are your own best teacher, and I am here to facilitate and grow alongside you.
My theoretical orientation is existential humanistic, with Gestalt modalities. This means that I take a present focused approach to therapy, focus on strengths rather than weaknesses, and aim to empower every client to find individual meaning within their lives. In a session together, I may use tools such as mindfulness, creative modalities, and focus on the mind-body connection.
I have experience as a Montessori preschool teacher. Now, as a counselor in training, my interest lies in working with children, young adults, couples, and families. I am passionate about working with the queer community, navigating life changes (such as graduating from college, getting married, getting divorced, pregnancy, etc), and those who may be grieving.
I am in my masters program at Stephens College, where I work alongside staff and supervisors to give you the best quality of care. I have engaged in research focusing on gender development and sand tray. I am excited to bring my sand tray work into our sessions together, as one potential creative modality we may use together.
Whatever life may bring your way, we can figure it out together.
